A DARK HORSE is a little-known person or thing that emerges to
prominence, especially in a competition of some sort[1] or a
contestant that seems unlikely to succeed. ~Wikipedia
Dark Horse is an old guild relative to the server but reasonably
new to raiding. In early Mists of Pandaria, Dark Horse was full of
new players that were eager to learn and eager to raid - but things
don't always go as planned. With the launch of Siege of Orgrimmar
in Sept. 2013, many of the main players stepped out to other guilds
to experience new raid environments. Late Spring of 2014, a number
of the previous Dark Horse raiders got to talking and dissatisfied
with our current ("meh" quality) raid teams we left those,
recruited new and competent players, and reformed Dark Horse. Under
new leadership, Dark Horse went from being the 2nd Wrst raiding
guild on the server at 2/14 normal in May to being the top Alliance
guild at 11/14 Heroic by early August (even on our modest 2-3
day/week raid schedule) when we had to stop due to real life
schedule conflicts. No one knew how true the definition of a Dark
Horse would be until this time.
It is no secret that Garrosh is a low population server. It is also
no secret that Garrosh is anything but super competitive on the
raiding scene (at least as far as alliance is concerned). We are
constantly looking for more highly skilled and personable players
to join our ranks. In Warlords of Draenor, we want to fully
establish ourselves as the top Alliance guild on the server (and
possibly help sway the reputation of Garrosh) so that means we need
the best players we can get. We will not cater to those who feel
entitled to loot, raid positions, rank, or anything else of the
sort. Everyone is given equal opportunity to prove themselves and
must work for whatever their goals are - the same as everyone else.
What we do as a guild is never based on individual gain but rather
what will inevitably improve our ability to kill raid bosses as a
Guild.
If you're from another server and are interested in joing us, feel
free to create a toon and ask for an Officer of Dark Horse in chat.
There's almost always someone online from our active Guild that can
point you to who you need to talk to. Or, send in game mail to
Sheekeel, Shadiline, or Wrstknight. Happy raiding!
