Embers Rising
Embers Rising started out as a completely fresh new re-roll guild
on Defias Brotherhood RP/PvP realm. This guild was created in
November 2012. Interest was high, Officers were put into place and
the guild was created with the intention of rounding up a core
group of players and stopping at the relevant level caps (60, 70,
80, 85, 90) to play through the content.
A community was formed.
A solid backbone of members which would ensure the guild would
never fall flat on its face and fade away into the distant past.
Players from all over Europe, gathered together. The atmosphere was
incredible, there were no random invites, you had to apply to join
this guild and be part of something special.
Embers Rising is aimed primarily at casual/social players. The most
important part for us is that you're having fun and getting to know
each other. We want everyone to feel at home which means we try to
maintain a "down to earth" and prestige-less environment. We don't
want anyone to feel left out, unwanted or disrespected. We're a
team, and we stand or fall together.
Our reputation made Embers Rising the place to be. The applications
were flooding in. Within our first month we were at a stage where
we were receiving applications in bulk daily, we couldn't believe
what was happening. The guild chat was lively and active. There was
a feeling among the guild that something really special was
happening. There was fun and laughs, the banter was flowing, the
feel for the guild was there. We all knew it, this was going to be
something different from the same old type of guild. We continued
our journey, hitting level caps, raiding the level cap content and
moving on when we were ready.
Approximately 5 weeks after the guild had been created, we raised
the level cap from 60 to 70 with a view to allowing members to
level to 70 over the Christmas and New Year period and to be ready
for 2013. Christmas passed, the Officers got together to assess the
progress of the guild… Wow! We had 26 active players sitting at
level 70. We had between 15-20 active players near to 70, and
between 20-30 active players who had more recently joined and were
in the process of levelling to 70. It was pretty clear to see, the
guild was no longer about level caps, this was about members really
enjoying themselves and enjoying the company of fellow
guildies.
A decision was made by the Leadership Team to remove the level cap
and to allow the guild to develop naturally without restriction.
(Bare in mind, we didn’t spam mass recruit, or send mass invites to
all level 1 characters). 100% of our members came from our
recruitment threads on the forums and from word of mouth.
I am sure all of us have been in that guild where there are 35
people online, and we’re thinking great this is going to be
awesome, its active, its level 25, its gotta be good! Then what
happens? The leaders don’t talk to anyone, in fact most of the time
just stick to each other, like a clique... You log in and say ‘Hey’
and get 1 or 2 responses out of the 35 online and then that’s it.
No chat, no banter, no laughs. Yeah, you get the heroics going
because there are 35 people online that want gear and want your
help getting it, then you just become another number within a
hugely populated guild.
If you're in this game because you want to progress, become a
better player, challenge yourself and be within a real community of
people who actually get to know each other, then Embers Rising is
the place for you. We do not let the rude ignorant selfish players
ruin your game.
Our aims….
- To raid progressively as a casual guild 3 nights per week. (at
max level)
- To run organised PvP events.
- To experience new and old content and generally take on whatever
ever the game has to offer. If there is a specific interest, we
will do our best to ensure your interest is met.
- To be organised and be structured for the long term.

Leadership
Since Embers Rising was created, there have been three Guild
Masters, the current Guild Master is Belamros. Supported by
Groundshaker, Zavuu and Venomacy, the Embers Rising Officers. The
Officers and Guild Master are also backed up by our raid leader,
Vazgr, and a PvP leader, Surly. Since the guild was formed Officers
have come and gone, and we are all thankful for their effort as
without them, this guild would not be where it is today.
We all play a part in making this guild a special place to be.
Every single person brings something new to the table. We do not
tolerate elitism and stress importance on teamwork and the
community.
Current Raid Progression
We are currently running a 10 man raid team, 3 nights a week. These
raids happen on a Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evening, running
from 20.30 until 23.30 (server time).
We have begun our quest into SoO normal and are currently 13/14
through. We are still looking for new members to join us.
Future Raid Progression
With a look ahead to the future, we're looking at recruiting enough
people to have a regular 25 man team. We'd also look at keeping a
secondary 10 man team in place to keep helping with gearing raiders
who need a bit of assistance.
