Who are We?
Sentient is a newly transferred, competitive World of Warcraft
raiding guild on US-Kel’Thuzad, previously known as Stasis-UB and
Frugal Inspirations-UB. We are always striving to be the best and
this is something we make sure our members understand. Sentient is
managed by veteran players coming from a wide array of prestigious
backgrounds. For the last four years our mission has been nothing
short of progress.
Currently Sentient is working towards becoming a top guild. You
will always find our dedicated group of officers looking for ways
to improve the guild and take it to the next level. One of the keys
for us is to be able to offer a fun, friendly community-environment
so that people can enjoy the game to its fullest while having one
focus: to be the best and to do whatever it takes to achieve our
goals.
Sentient has a lot to offer to potential applicants. One of the
strongest aspects of the guild is its leadership. Our guild is run
by a group of highly motivated, competitive, talented, smart, and
dedicated players who always go above and beyond for the guild and
every member. They are the ones that provide the structure and the
stability that allows raiding to be fun, smooth, and most
importantly, efficient.
Another characteristic worth mentioning is player development. We
dedicate a lot of our time to recruitment activities and to each
applicant. Our core of players is not only looking to improve
themselves, but the people around them. Many people get to raid
with us because we notice their potential, and in Sentient, they
finally get that opportunity to grow as a player and take their
game to the next level.
Last but not least, we want it to be fun. We think competition is
fun. However, competing is only good when the right environment is
provided. Our guild has great people that have a lot to offer. We
work with all of our players in making sure they are enjoying their
time in the guild, and ultimately, we make it our goal that our
players can call Sentient their home.
Our Principles
Sentient is committed to create and maintain an environment of
mutual trust and respect, where everyone feels responsible for the
performance and reputation of our guild. We will recruit, employ
and promote players on the sole basis of the qualifications and
abilities needed for the work to be performed. We are committed to
working with our players to develop and enhance each individual's
skill and capabilities. We will maintain good and open
communications with all members through all the mediums at our
disposal such as social media, mobile technologies, Mumble, and of
course in-game communication tools (proper use of gchat, whispers,
in-game mail, and such).
Raids & Invites
Our Schedule
Monday – 7pm to 11:00pm ST
Wednesday – 7pm to 11:00pm ST
Thursday – 7pm to 11:00pm ST
Invites
Invites will go out at 6:45 PM. At this point you should be almost
ready to raid. Members will be asked to send a whisper to receive
an invite, or an officer will use an addon that automatically
invites the guild. The raid group will be sorted based on what will
give the guild the highest chance of succeeding on progression.
If you are not in the main raid group, you are not required to stay
in the raid during the whole night. You're welcome to drop raid to
do other things, such as dailies, 5 mans, battlegrounds, etc.
However, if you wish to get into a fight later in the raid, you
need to remain available; preferably by staying in Mumble. The
officers will not make an effort to get you into the raid if you do
not make an effort to be available.
What Expectations do You Have from your Raiders?
Our goal is to be at our very best for every raid and to compete
with among the best in the nation and the world. In order to
achieve this, we all have to take our game to the next level.
Therefore, we set very high expectations for everyone who wants to
raid with us.
Be a role model
Know the fights before coming to raid
Be communicative
Perform at your best
Critically self-evaluate yourself
Minimize downtime between attempts
Learn from the mistakes of others, not just yours
Bring a positive attitude to the raids
Attendance policy
We expect our raiders to be able to participate in almost 100% of
our raids. However, if you can't make it to a raid you need to let
the guild know by either making a forum post, or contacting an
officer. It is understandable to miss a raid, but if this becomes a
habit, the officers will take the proper actions. You may be
removed from the guild due to your attendance.
How do You Handle Loot?
Our guild uses a Loot Council system to distribute the items. Loot
is given to players based on different factors, including but not
limited to: attendance, performance, attitude, recent loot, and
current progression goals.
In a raid, the Master Looter will link an item in raid warning. You
simply whisper 'need' if you need the item, or 'greed' if it is a
minor upgrade, or if you want it for an off-spec.
