Skies of Doom are a long running casual raiding guild. First formed
in Vanilla WoW, SoD have experienced raids in every expansion so
far. While never a top guild we have enjoyed reasonable success
over the years and now look to build upon previous achievements in
the new expansion.
Our main aim has always been to progressively advance in the
end-game content in a relaxed, non-hardcore way. By finding members
who are mature, friendly and skilled but unable or unwilling to
commit to a hardcore raiding schedule with 3+ obligatory raid days
per week. This does not necessarily mean we do less, just that we
don't expect everyone to be there all the time.
We plan to raid on Friday and Sunday 8-11pm server time, and the
occasional Tuesday/Wednesday. All members wanting to raid are
required to sign up in advance and be on Mumble for the duration.
Raid consumables are provided by the guild and loot is assigned
using our simple customized loot system. In the past we have
organized alt runs and casual nights for transmog gear and
achievements farming, which may return by popular demand.
While we are quite easy-going we still expect our members to act
with maturity and respect in all areas of the game. We expect
players to take responsibility for working to improve their gear
within reason and to keep it gemmed and enchanted according to the
latest stat priorities for their class and spec. We try to promote
working together to craft useful gear and enhancement items for
each other and try to discourage making profit at other members'
expense. To support this we run an open guild bank system where
members are free to deposit and withdraw what they need, we ask
only that these happen in somewhat equal measure to keep the system
working.
All new members are required to complete a trial period where they
have no bank access and do not have the chance to claim loot
priority in raids. We also have social ranks for friends and family
or inactive members.
